Enter Engineering has agreed to cooperate with the German industrial concern thyssenkrupp for implementation of high technologies in a new mining and processing complex
The strategically important project for Uzbekistan involves formation of new job, development of deposits and use of energy efficient technologies in the country
Enter Engineering and thyssenkrupp AG, a major German industrial concern, have announced signing of an Agreement of Intent.
The €50 million agreement relates to cooperation between Enter Engineering and thyssenkrupp AG in construction of an integrated mining and processing complex at the Tebinbulak titanium magnetite ore deposit.
The parties also signed an agreement on starting preparatory work for the project, including a contract for supply of high-tech equipment, its design, supervision during installation and commissioning at the facility.
The innovative technology of High-Pressure Grinding Rolls will be used at the field to process up to 60 million tons of iron ore per year while reducing energy consumption.
Bakhtiyor Fazylov, Chairman of Enter Engineering Board of Directors, said:
“We are excited to cooperate with leading global companies such as thyssenkrupp. Applying German standards, we will create a high-quality raw material base for the domestic metallurgical industry. This project also embodies all the goals that Enter Engineering is striving for: protecting the national interests of the republic in the foreign market, supporting the interests of Uzbek consumers and new job formation.”
The construction period for Enter Engineering is two years, the plant is expected to be commissioned in September 2023.
Reza Purvash, thyssenkrupp Vice President for Mining and Processing Technologies in Eurasia region, including CIS and China, said:
“To date, more than 140 units of HPGR equipment have been sold for the mining industry. In CIS countries, thyssenkrupp is a leader and most often selected by the mining companies using this technology. High quality and reliability of the German brand is confirmed in practice.”
Roman Carl, Thyssenkrupp Regional Director for Mining and Processing Technologies in CIS countries, commented:
“We are glad to cooperate with Enter Engineering, a well-known company in Uzbekistan, which has extensive experience in successful implementation of big engineering-construction projects.
At the moment, this is one of the most energy-efficient and innovative technologies that can significantly reduce energy consumption. High-Pressure Grinding Rolls technology has being used since 1985 in the cement industry, since 1986 - in the mining industry for grinding to ensure a high level of product fineness. Full integration of this technology within Industry 4.0 is also important.”
The mining and processing complex is of great importance for Uzbekistan due to its multiplier effect. Along with new job formation in remote areas, its use will contribute to development of the domestic iron ore industry, providing raw materials for the existing metallurgical complexes of the country. It will also promote development of infrastructure, formation of service-type business and increased trade between countries.
Tebinbulak field is located in the Karauzyak district of Karakalpakstan, in the northwestern part of Uzbekistan. The deposit area is 5.2 sq. km, and the predicted life cycle is 27 years.
Cooperation between Enter Engineering and thyssenkrupp is being supported at a high intergovernmental level. Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan H.E. Alisher Sultanov took part in the Agreement signing ceremony. Ministry of Energy is involved in the national efforts to transfer obsolete operations to new energy-saving technologies.
Also, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Uzbekistan H.E. Tilo Klinner was present at the official ceremony, who noted:
“Today is a very important moment. A contract has been signed for a strategic project, which is a symbol of strengthening relations between Germany and Uzbekistan. Germany and major German companies such as thyssenkrupp are proud to be part of this important endeavor as technology partners.
The concentrating plant is part of the Tebinbulak mining and processing complex, and the new project will be implemented jointly with Enter Engineering, a leading Uzbek company. Since 2016, the reform process in Uzbekistan has already produced remarkable results, and this project will help further develop close cooperation between our countries.”
