Cricket was invented by the British in the middle of the 18th century and today has become one of the most popular sports in many countries. However, this sport is mostly loved in India. Today we will talk about our Indian employees who have created their own cricket club in Uzbekistan.
Mohammed Tanvir Ahmad and Mohammed Tabriz Alam have been contributing to the development of the Shurtan gas chemical complex project for more than three years. Both of them work as chief engineers at the facility. During their careers, Tanvir and Tabriz managed to establish themselves not only as true professionals, but also fulfilled their dream of creating a cricket team in Uzbekistan. They have founded the Tashkent Stars Cricket Club (TSCC) in 2020 and nowadays this club closely cooperates with the cricket federation of Uzbekistan.
Tanvir Ahmad, co-founder and vice-captain of TSCC, told us about this entertaining game and his newly created team:
“Cricket is a non-contact team sport belonging to a "bat and ball" family of games. It is bright and intense, just like the Indian temperament. At home, I have been playing cricket since childhood. Tashkent Stars is an amateur cricket club that brought together the players from all over the world: from India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and, of course, from Uzbekistan. Every weekend and on holidays we meet with colleagues from Enter Engineering and Uzliti Engineering, divide into teams and play. Sometimes other local cricket lovers join us. Eleven people from each team participate in the game. It is very exciting.
Tanvir lived and worked in Malaysia for a long time, where he continued to play his favorite sport. During his stay in this country, a guest from India established the KUALA LUMPUR STAR CRICKET CLUB, and being a part of the team he won the corporate championship in 2017. Also, in the period from 2013 to 2016, he won several prestigious tournaments in Malaysia.
Tanveer's colleague Mohammed Tabriz Alam is also a professional cricketer and co-founder of KUALA LUMPUR STAR CRICKET CLUB in Malaysia and BSCC CRICKET CLUB in India. At home, he competed in the state cricket championships in the under 14, 17, 19 and 23 age groups, and also captained a team from the top 'A' division for several years. Today, Tabriz makes a great contribution to the development of cricket in our country, teaching children this exciting sport.
Our heroes are a vivid example of how passion for what you love can become the meaning of the life: wherever you are, you will always find time and a way to do what inspires you and gives you strength to conquer new heights. We wish Tanvir and Tabriz inexhaustible energy on the way to the implementation of all their plans!
