A large-scale reconstruction of the Trinity St. George Monastery and the construction of the Uzbek-Russian Cultural Center began in July 2019. It will accommodate a library, a reading room, a conference hall and an education hall.

The Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan decided to restore the original appearance of St George's Cathedral, which it had before 1925, when by the decision of the authorities of that time the domes were removed and the bell-tower was demolished. This important socially significant project is being implemented by ENTER Engineering, which plans to complete it in the first quarter of 2020.

In particular, the bell-tower will be built to a height of 31 meters and new bells will be raised on it. The old roof of the temple, which is over 120 years old, will be replaced. And the titanium nitride-coated domes will be gold-plated in the temple and bell tower.

There will soon be a new chapel for blessing water with water tank to keep it from freezing in winter. The entire interior and adjacent area will be improved and landscaped.

The St George's Trinity Monastery is the only monastery in all of Central Asia and is listed as a tourist attraction in Uzbekistan. There are two miraculous icons of the Mother of God on its area: " It is truly meet", written and consecrated in 1908 on the holy Mount Athos; "Economissa", written and consecrated in 1896 on the holy Mount Athos.

Given the importance of the monastery for pilgrims and guests, a decision was taken by ENTER Engineering to build a hotel. The three-storey building with a total area of 1,150 m2 will have both individual rooms and space for a dormitory for 30 people.

Hegumen Nektary (Blinov), Vicar of St George's Trinity Monastery, spoke in detail about the creation and rich history of the monastery:

"In 1870 Russian settlers founded the village of Troitskoye, where the St. George Church was inaugurated in 1900. It is one of the oldest temples in Uzbekistan, which has been preserved to this day. During World War II it served as a dormitory for Austrian prisoners of war. In 1944 it was reopened as a temple, but since then no reconstruction has taken place to restore the church to its former appearance after the destruction," said the vicar of the monastery.

- I am therefore very pleased that Enter Engineering is implementing this important project in the field of spiritual education. This is because mercy is a special feeling of the soul, which is mainly expressed in acts of charity. Demonstration of love for one's neighbor is inextricably linked with the commandment to love God," he added.

The first and only monastery in Central Asia was opened at the temple in 1996. There are now 12 people living here. With the completion of the Uzbek-Russian cultural center and the reconstruction of St. George's Trinity Monastery, which is scheduled for the first quarter of 2020, the number of accommodation facilities will increase.
