Giving good as a way of life

On December 3, in honour of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a number of charity events for children with disabilities were held throughout the country, including in the cities of Tashkent and Karshi. The events were organized by the institutions themselves with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and financial support from the oilfield services company ERIELL Group and the construction company Enter Engineering Pte.Ltd.

This holiday has been celebrated around the world since 1992 and aims to raise public awareness of the problems faced by a special category of people. There are various measures to support people with disabilities at the state level, and programs for social and professional integration are being implemented. Owing to the common efforts of the state, the activities of public organizations and companies with a strong socially responsible position, the republic strives to create equal and comfortable conditions for everyone.

There are several state multidisciplinary specialized pre-school educational organizations for children with locomotor disorders in the city of Tashkent. International oilfield services group ERIELL Group has been supporting charitable and socially-oriented projects on rehabilitation and integration of children suffering from this disorder for several years.

"Our kindergarten has 154 children - children with disabilities, children with locomotor disorders, intellectual disabilities and psycho-speech development disorders. Today, in honour of the International day of persons with disabilities, actors from the Youth Theatre of Uzbekistan staged a performance for the children from the kindergarten, and ENTER Engineering presented gifts. These children need attention and care every day, so for them it is not just gifts, but above all attention. We could read on their faces how happy they were," said Sultanova Dilrabo Khaitovna, director of the state multidisciplinary specialized pre-school educational institution No. 560 "Semurg".- It has been exactly one year in November since ERIELL Group and ENTER Engineering carried out a complete reconstruction of our building. Every year they renovate the premises, help to furnish and equip the institution with educational and developmental equipment, children playgrounds, a warehouse and a swimming pool, fitness and music halls have been built, kitchen have been equipped", she added.

A celebration was also organized at boarding school No 102 for children with hearing difficulties, who themselves prepared a real concert programme for the guests and staff of the boarding school.

- More than 260 children study and are being fostered in our school. They are being accepted from different regions of Uzbekistan. The school has all the conditions to ensure that the foster children receive all the knowledge they need. Even though their hearing is impaired, the children try very hard: they learn poems, dance, sing, knit, sew, make crafts and, of course, our teachers help them to do so. Today, in honour of the International Day of persons with disabilities, our pupils have prepared a concert programme in which they will recite poems, dance and perform pantomimes. It came as a pleasant surprise to me when ERIELL Group called me last week and took the initiative to do something for our institution, and we already had new washing machines delivered today. We are sincerely grateful to the company for its help in replenishing the material base of our institution," said Mirfayazova Rano Bakhramovna, Director of specialized boarding school No 102 for hearing-impaired children in Almazar district.

And in Karshi city, a theatre performance was staged with the participation of the pupils and staff of the boarding school, with the Kashkadarya Provincial Cultural Authority and the Kashkadarya Provincial Health Department as guests of the festivity. Sound equipment was purchased specifically for the Muruvvat boarding school and presented at the festivity. The event ended with a sweet meal for the boarding school children and guests.

- We are very grateful for the event. The children had a lot of positive emotions and felt a festive atmosphere. This kind of event is very important for children with special needs, as it is a way for them to socialize," commented a member of staff at the boarding school.

A year ago, the Muruvvat Uyi residential care home for 270 persons in Karshi city was completely reconstructed by ERIELL Group and Enter Engineering. In addition, the building was provided with heating, potable water, external sewerage system, treatment tanks, modern boiler house, ventilation and air conditioning system.

Any, even the smallest and most insignificant good deed, has an enormous power. A person who received help during a difficult time in their life will remember it for years to come. However, the most valuable thing about goodness is its contagiousness. The more of the pleasant little things, the better the mood of those around you and the greater their desire to do good deeds as well.
