Сonsortium of the industrial construction leader in the Central Asian market Enter Engineering (EE) and the enterprise of the machine-building division of Gazprombank - PJSC Uralmashzavod (UZTM, part of the UZTM-KARTEX group) - will build a concentration plant in Uzbekistan. To this date, representatives of the alliance of companies have entered into the appropriate agreement with Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC), the largest producer of cathode copper in Uzbekistan.
On behalf of the EPC consortium, the contract for engineering, procurement and construction of the Copper Concentration Plant complex in the city of Almalyk (MOF-3) was signed by Alfonso Samonte Tengco, the authorized representative of Enter Engineering, and Jan Center, General Director of UZTM-KARTEX group. The total value of the contract is $2 billion, the project implementation date is 2023. Bahodirjon Sidikov, director of the project office for implementation of the investment project "Development of Yoshlik-1 deposit" signed on behalf of AMMC.
The document says that Enter Engineering and Uralmashzavod will jointly build a turnkey plant at the Almalyk MMC: EE will fulfill engineering and construction of the facility, and UZTM will supply a full range of process equipment. It is expected that for MOF-3 with capacity of 60 million tons per year, UZTM-KARTEX will manufacture more than 100 pieces of equipment, including large-volume mills, crushing and transfer plants, standard cone crushers, press rollers, screens of various types, sections of flotation machines with capacity of 300 cubes and other equipment.
“Almalyk MMC is implementing the investment project “Development of Yoshlik I deposit”, which will significantly increase the volume of ore mining and processing, using modern technologies. With the start of ore mining from the Yoshlik deposit and its subsequent merger with the existing Kalmakyr open pit, this deposit will be one of the largest in the world. The signed contract is, in fact, the most important step in implementation of the entire project,” says Bakhodirjon Sidikov. According to him, selection of a consortium for execution of the contract is based on its competitive advantages in terms of cost, timing of the factory commissioning and conditions of fund raising for the entire amount of the contract. When evaluating the proposals, the possibility of attracting local labor resources by the consortium was also taken into account, as well as localization of spare parts and materials production at the Central Mechanical Repair Plant of Almalyk MMC JSC for the equipment used.

Today, Uralmashzavod supplies modern high-tech machines to the mining equipment market, which are standing toe to toe with the best foreign analogues, and surpass them in some way. This allows us to participate in the largest projects of mining companies,” says Jan Center.
Construction of the concentration plant at the Almalyk MMC is the first joint project of UZTM-KARTEX and EE. In the future, the companies are planning to participate jointly in construction of other facilities both in Central Asia and in Russia, within the framework of the association created.
