Ferkensco Management Limited, Casale S.A. and Enter Engineering Pte. Ltd. signed a trilateral agreement on construction of a plant in the Syrdarya region
Tashkent, March 24, 2022 - A cooperation agreement was signed between the Uzbek companies Ferkensco Management Limited, Enter Engineering Pte. Ltd. and the Swiss Casale S.A. on construction of a plant for production of nitrogen-based fertilizers in Uzbekistan. The signing ceremony took place within the framework of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
Purpose of the agreement is to define the fundamental provisions for future cooperation in financing the project with estimated cumulative investment of US$500 million.
Casale was awarded the contract in 2021 for provision of all licenses and FEED for ammonia, urea and granulation plants. Supported by European funding, this new agreement confirms the position of Casale S.A. as a unique partner, and its technology will provide legacy in the plant design and supply of critical equipment systems.
Casale S.A. with the support of the local design institute, Uzliti Engineering was appointed general designer of the project.
A modern plant for production of mineral fertilizers based on ammonia will be built in the city of Yangiyer, Syrdarya region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This project will serve to further develop, diversify and increase the investment potential of the country's chemical industry. Upon completion of the project, the plant will produce up to 495,000 tons of ammonia and 594,000 tons of granulated urea per year.
Completion of the construction is expected in the first half of 2025, and the newly-constructed plant will form more than 500 new job opportunities.

Upon completion of the construction, the plant will produce highly effective nitrogen-based mineral fertilizers, which will allow Uzbekistan to meet the domestic demand, as well as to expand trade in the foreign market.”
