Concrete pouring record at MOF-3 project
Construction activities at the Copper Concentrating Plant MOF-3 for AGMK in Almalyk have reached their peak, and the future industrial giant is taking shape.
Recently, a remarkable event came off on the construction site - massive concrete foundation and beams were poured for the fine screening unit. It was the largest-ever pouring of 14 thousand cubic meters of concrete in our country.
To succeed in this operation, enormous preparatory works including calculations, the development of the process flow diagram, the mobilization of people and equipment were done. Works also included the installation of the formwork and the spatial reinforcing cage for the foundation and beams. Required inert materials, like cement, sand, aggregates and plasticizer were stocked. More than 1600 specialists and more than 80 units of special and ancillary equipment were mobilized only for concrete pouring.
For 24 hours, a caravan of mixers continuously brought the concrete mixture to the site, where it was pumped directly to the places prepared for pouring and compacted with immersion vibrators. The actions of all departments involved in the process were coordinated in advance. It was very important to proceed pouring continuously and maintain the required quality of the mixture. According to the process requirements, there are strict time limits for concrete pouring. And that required considerable effort from the entire construction team, but everything went smoothly and the operation was successfully completed.
We congratulate the close-knit team of MOF-3 builders on this achievement and wish them further success in their work!
