The President visited BGPP
As part of his visit to Surkhandarya region, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Baysun district, where he got acquainted with the construction of the Mustaqillikning 25-yilligi Gas Chemical Complex.
During the visit, the head of state inspected the construction site and studied the results of exploration and seismic studies, as well as met and talked with investors, specialists and builders of Enter Engineering involved in the development of the field.
The project is being implemented by foreign company, Syrian Gas Chemical Operating Company, and its cost is 2.9 billion USD. GCC will have the capacity to extract and process 5 billion cubic meters of gas per year. At the moment, 1 billion 450 million USD has been invested in the development of the Mustaqillikning 25-yilligi field, drilling operations at 20 wells have been completed, and 11 gas wells have been successfully tested. A huge amount of creative activity has been carried out by Enter Engineering specialists — general construction works have almost been completed, metal structures and technological equipment are being installed.
The projects and construction of the plant are carried out on the basis of licensed Shell technologies. It meets the most modern environmental requirements and is able to neutralize 99 percent of harmful industrial waste. Such equipment is being installed here for the first time in the CIS countries. The plant will become the eighth gas chemical complex in Uzbekistan, one of the largest industrial enterprises in the region. More than a thousand new jobs will be created.
The Head of the State instructed to develop the resolution aimed at reducing the volume of gas sales, organizing its processing and obtaining high-quality and profitable products with high added value. This will allow to recoup costs as soon as possible and make GCC competitive. The high social significance of the future enterprise for the development of the entire region and its residents was also noted.
