FOR: work is ongoing
As we reported earlier, active reconstruction and modernisation of the Fergana Refinery (FOR) continues under the signed contract between Enter Engineering and FOR.
The customer of the project is Fergana Refinery and the general contractor is Enter Engineering Pte. Ltd. The site covers an area of 475 hectares. More than 900 specialists and 148 units of construction and special equipment are involved in the works.
At present, the construction of a new high-purity (99.9%) hydrogen production unit to cover the hydrogen deficit of hydrocracking (HCR), gasoil hydrotreating (HDS) and oil hydrotreating (G-24) units is at the final stage. The process technology is based on hydrogen production from natural or liquefied hydrocarbon gas. The capacity of the unit is 12.5 thousand m³/hour. The main equipment suppliers are WOOD (Italy) and Air Products (USA). A substation with a capacity of 6 thousand kVA has been built to supply electricity to the facility and commissioning works are in progress.
In order to expand and modernise the plant's tank farm, it is planned to install 36 tanks with a total volume of 112.4 thousand m³. At present 13 tanks with total capacity of 36 thousand m³ have been constructed. Finishing works are being finalised in the Central Operator's Room, from where production processes will be controlled. The facility is equipped with modern automated process control systems.
As part of the second stage of construction, work continues on the construction of inter-factory communications, a new flare facility and a water block for the needs of the new units. At the same time, physically and morally obsolete equipment is being replaced at the existing units, modern telemetry and telemechanics equipment is being installed, which will improve the quality of products.
To supply retail consumers with gas and liquid motor fuels, a fuelling complex is being built at the plant, including CNG filling stations and filling stations.
After the modernisation is completed, the FOR will be able to produce, in addition to traditional products, semi-synthetic and synthetic oils that meet international requirements and quality standards.
