The President visited Tashkent region
The day before, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made a working visit to Tashkent region. In particular, in the city of Almalyk, he got acquainted with the development of the Yoshlik-1 deposit and the construction of the third copper processing plant (COPP-3) on its basis, and also launched the construction of the fourth copper processing plant. Another point on the map of the trip was the Enter Steel plant in the Yangiyul district.
The head of state got acquainted in detail with the progress of construction work at COPP-3, carried out by specialists of the Enter Engineering company, he was also provided with information on the economic efficiency of the future enterprise, advanced technologies and innovations in work processes being implemented here.
COPP-3 is planned to produce high-value products from the ore extracted at the Yoshlik-1 deposit. According to international estimates, the gross copper reserves in Almalyk are 45 million tons, and gold reserves are more than 5 thousand tons, which is one of the largest global indicators.
At the first stage, the plant will process up to 60 million tons of ore per year. This will produce 917 thousand tons of copper and 2.5 thousand tons of molybdenum concentrates. At the same time, 5,600 people will be employed. At the second stage, the capacity will reach 160 million tons, which is 3 times higher than the initial figure. As a result, by 2028, the enterprise will have the capacity to produce 400 thousand tons of copper, 50 tons of gold and 270 tons of silver per year. In addition, the project contributed to the development of related industries. For example, plants for the production of metal structures for the construction of the plant have been commissioned, the training of new personnel is being improved, and the social infrastructure is expanding.
A ceremonial launch of the construction of the 4th copper processing plant was also held. The head of state pressed a symbolic button, thus marking the beginning of the second stage of the project.
After the launch of the enterprise, where the most modern and safe technologies will also be implemented, it will receive 146 thousand tons of copper cathode, 13 tons of gold and 73 tons of silver per year. Jobs for 3 thousand people will be created at MOF-4 and its infrastructure facilities. The Italian company Wood and the British Worley Parsons are involved in the project.
The day before, Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Enter Steel plant, where he got acquainted with the production process and the exhibition of manufactured products. The plant manufactures metal structures, high-pressure tanks, overhead cranes, drilling equipment, welding electrodes, metal doors, and electrical panels. The workshops are equipped with equipment supplied from China, Japan, Russia, Turkey, Italy, Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands. The enterprise can provide jobs for 1,500 people.
Enter Steel pays great attention to training the necessary specialists. For this purpose, "AMALIY MONOMARKAZ" was created, the classrooms and laboratories of which are equipped with modern equipment similar to that used at the plant. The educational program of the center was developed jointly with the Tashkent State Technical University.
